Every book cover tells a story — not just the one inside, but the story of the journey behind it. And after months of work, tweaks, and design experiments, I’ve reached that moment where I need your help.
As many of you know, I’m preparing to release the boxed set of The Dragons of Dorwine trilogy — a single volume that brings together The Blood of a Dragon, The Eye of a Dragon, and The Soul of a Dragon.
This boxed set is a big milestone for me. It’s the culmination of years of storytelling, late-night writing sessions, and the voices of readers like you who’ve made this world come alive. Naturally, I want the cover to do it justice.
My Dilemma
I currently have two designs in progress — but neither feels quite perfect.
Version One: A clean, minimal layout featuring the title and logo on a parchment-textured background — elegant, but maybe too plain.

Version Two: A dramatic design showcasing the three original book covers side by side — vibrant, but maybe a little busy. As much as I love the individual book covers, they tend to clash together.

I can’t decide which better captures the spirit of Dorwine: the quiet mystery of ancient magic… or the bold sweep of adventure.
I Need Your Eyes (and Your Opinion)
Below, you’ll find both versions.
Take a look at each and let me know which one speaks to you.
Would you be more likely to click on the clean, mysterious version — or the vivid, book-cover collage version?
Even better, if you have an idea I haven’t tried yet — a symbol, a texture, a color theme that feels more “Dorwine” to you — please tell me. I want this boxed set to reflect what readers love most about this world.
You can reply directly in the comments, or email me through my site’s contact page. I’ll share the final version in an upcoming newsletter, along with a behind-the-scenes peek at how it comes together.
Why It Matters
This boxed set is more than a bundle of books — it’s the gateway to the next chapter of the Dorwine saga. Choosing the right cover isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about setting the tone for everything that comes next.
So lend me your eyes, your instincts, and maybe even your artistic imagination.
Together, we’ll craft the look of Dorwine’s future. (That was pretty dramatic, no?)
